Decathlon wants to double in Belgium over the next five years

Decathlon, the world’s largest sporting goods retail chain, wants to double the number of doors it has in Belgium over the next five years, reports Sport Partner, a trade publication covering the Benelux countries. According to the publication, Herman Van Beveren, manager in charge of the Belgian market, aims to establish a total of 30 stores within this time frame. Decathlon currently has 15 stores in Belgium; the French retailer intends to open another store, number 16, in the town of Verviers later this year. Plans to open a 17th outlet in Gent next year are also underway.
