WFSGI resurrects World Sports Forum

worldsportsforumThe World Sports Forum (WSF) association, which was established in 1997, but inactive for a couple of years, recently held a general assembly to re-vitalize the organization. The objectives of the WSF are, among others, to provide a neutral stage for all sports-related communities, to promote discussion of the most important issues in the world of sports, to create an open dialogue to bridge commercial interests and social responsibility and to become the most important independent conference in the sports world.

The re-launched WSF’s committee members are basically all on the executive board of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), which manages the WSF. Additionally, former WFSGI president and ex-member of the executive board at Adidas, Michel Perraudin, was elected committee member. The association will be chaired by WFSGI president Frank Dassler of Adidas. Martin Künzi, chief financial officer at Intersport International, is treasurer and Robbert de Kock, WFSGI secretary-general, holds the equivalent position at WSF. The assembly voted for former WSF president Stephen Rubin (Pentland Group) as honorary president and André Gorgemans, former WFSGI secretary-general, as honorary director.
