At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nick Woodman, founder and CEO of action cam specialist GoPro, hinted that he was serious about entering China, described as the world’s largest market for consumer electronics. And probably during 2015. He emphasized, however, that he was not in a hurry and said that it was important to position the brand properly in China rather than rush into the market at any cost as soon as possible.
In spite of forecasts predicting that the global business of consumer electronics would only grow by 1 percent in the current year, GoPro is very much aware that it has to do something internationally. As of now, more than the half of its revenues derives from the domestic U.S. market.
