The Longboard Classic, in Stuben am Arlberg, is the world’s biggest longboard and old school snowboarding event. With a 15-year history and with a yearly attendance of over 400 participants it has also become know as the “Woodstock of Snowboarding”.
Legends and snowboard lovers will meet on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the top of the 2,408meter Albona ridge. From here they race down to the village of Stuben, a vertical drop of 1,001meters. Proponents of old style compete in the Old School Class, complete with Day-Glo outfits and old boards; free and soul riders ride their longboards in the Master Class and all others battle it out in the “No School Class”.
Winning isn’t important though; it’s all about having fun and sharing this unique season ender with friends. Celebrations really kick off after the race with a classic movie night, followed by the legendary Longboard Classic party.
