Décathlon, the French sporting-goods retail giant, increased global sales before VAT by 10 percent to €8.2 billion compared with 2013. Comp-store sales were up by 6 percent. In 2014, the chain opened 103 new points of sales; it counted 884 outlets worldwide by the end of 2014. With market entry into Croatia, the group lifted the number of countries, into which it sells, to 21. The French market contributed for 39.5 percent of total turnover, the rest was international.
