Columbia Sportswear Company has named Han-Bo Shim as new general manager of the U.S. outdoor group’s fully owned subsidiary in South Korea. His predecessor since 2012, HR Cho, will remain on the board for a while to provide a smooth transition.
53-year-old Shim has a long record of experience in top positions in the local sporting goods industry. Over the past decade he ran the operations of TaylorMade in the country after a five year stint as chief financial officer for Adidas Korea. Columbia sells its collections through 250 retailer-run stores as well as through the group’s corporate web shops.
