Black Diamond Inc. president Zeena Freeman has resigned from the company on June 3. Hired as the outdoor company’s chief executive in August last year, Freeman resigned a few days after founder Peter Metcalf’s decision to step down from the company’s board. It is expected that Metcalf will return to his role as president and CEO.
While Freeman signed with BD last summer to become Metcalf’s successor, it became known in spring that the group announced it was considering steps to dismember the alliance of brands and to sell Black Diamond (with Pieps) and Sweden’s helmet label POC in two steps. BD Inc.’s former backpack brand Gregory was sold to Samsonite in June last year.
