Nike has signed an eight-year sponsorship deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to design and manufacture jerseys, uniforms and warm-up outfits. A new aspect of the agreement is that the garments will be co-branded and will display, for the first time, the supplier’s logo along with the NBA logo.
The Swoosh brand will take over from 2017, when Adidas’ current deal expires after 11 years of partnership with the U.S. professional league. A few weeks back, it was rumored that Under Armour was equally interested in replacing the Three Stripes. Reportedly, but unconfirmed, Nike is paying around $1 billion for the sponsorship agreement.
