Adidas chief calls for Platini as Blatter’s successor

In an interview with German news magazine Focus, chief executive of the Adidas Group, Herbert Hainer, has praised Michel Platini, president of Uefa, as the most appropriate candidate to succeed Sepp Blatter, the outgoing president of the world soccer federation Fifa. Hainer said that the French soccer legend has done a terrific job during his two terms at the helm of the European federation. As Platini’s successor at Uefa, Hainer could imagine Wolfgang Niersbach, currently the boss at DFB, the German football federation.
