For the Red Bull 26 Zoll mountain bike race, which kicks off on October 17, participants should not only have fitness and endurance but also good orienteering skills and strategy!
Over a distance of 150 kilometers riders have to visit 26 “custom stations” using their GPS where they have to collect “coins” as proof of their journey. What makes the race unique is that there’s no set competition route, as over 300 marathon and cross country fans will be free to choose the sequence of the stations!
The route will lead through the stunning landscape of the UNESCO world heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley and mainly take in public forest roads; only a small part of the route is paved. The goal is the medieval Rheinfels castle in St. Goar.
Registration is open until September 20 on the Red Bull 26 Zoll-Website. The start fee is €46.
