Finnish and Swedish retailers join Sport 2000

imageSGN Sportia, the big specialty retailer from Finland, has decided to join the ranks of Sport 2000 International, the European buying group of sporting goods shops. At this point, SGN runs 56 points of sale around the country.

Simultaneously, Team Sportia of Sweden becomes part of the international family of sporting goods retailers. The group, in which the Finnish counterpart holds a majority stake, operates 105 sales points in Sweden.

With this enlargement of our group, Sport 2000 International is taking another important step in its expansion strategy. More and more national purchasing associations realize that today it is essential to be part of a strong, international network – for single retailers it’s even more important.”

The two retailers have a combined annual turnover of 278 million. In future, their respective stores will be co-branded both with the national logo and the “Partner of Sport 2000” tag. With this latest move, Sport 2000 International now fully covers the continental territory of the Nordic region.
