Bob Hurley to leave Hurley brand

hurley_phantom-history-01Bob Hurley, founder of the board sports brand of the same name, will step down from his role as chief executive after 16 years in office. He will be replaced by Bob Coombes, so far vice president and general manager at Hurley, who will report to Jayme Martin who acts as vice president and general manager for Global Categories at Hurley’s parent company Nike.

Bob Hurley himself will not retire entirely. Instead, he will take on a new position at Nike where he will work on the extension of the Swoosh company’s relations with élite athletes.
