Ready to climb alpine heights – the Arc’teryx Nuclei AR Jacket

When it comes to outerwear, mountaineers are looking for low weight and less volume in order to save energy. The Nuclei AR Jacket which won the ISPO AWARD Gold 2015 totally lives up to these expectations.

The Arc’teryx team has put all of their experience into the material mix and construction of the 465g light outdoor jacket. The ideal warmth and weight proportions come from water-repellent Coreloft 100g/m2 insulation and seam taped Windstopper outer material. This provides excellent protection against weather and wind while keeping the athlete warm.

Custom-fit freedom of movement in all conditions

The Nuclei AR Jacket is the perfect choice for high alpine terrain: light, with a small pack size and comfortable to wear even with a harness. The jacket’s outer is extremely breathable as well as wind and waterproof. Thanks to the athletic fit the Nuclei AR can easily be worn with additional warming layers making it a great choice for expeditions, backcountry tours and ice climbing. The StormHood is compatible with all kinds of helmets and rotates with the head offering great all-round visibility, while its visor protects against rain and melt water.

Light and small: It’s all about details

Big mesh pockets inside the Nuclei AR offer space to store additional accessories, while the heavily insulated hand pockets keep hands warm. Thanks to integrated, covered holes in the jacket’s seam air can be let off during packing for a small pack size. The jacket can be stored in the light stuff sack inside a backpack or clipped to a harness. Its many well-thought-out and functional details make the Nuclei AR Jacket a perfect alpine Belay Parka.
