Members of the world cup winning German soccer team unveiled the official shirt for Euro 2016 to be held in France next summer. The presentation took place during a rap concert at Adidas-owned “The Base” in Berlin in front of 700 fans.
The kit supplier returned to the traditional black pants which had a break last year at the world cup in Brazil when Germany won the tournament completely in white. The sleeves of the new jersey display the years when the German team won titles at world and euro cups, respectively.
However, the timing of the presentation could not have been more unfortunate: On Nov. 9, the president of the German soccer federation DFB, Wolfgang Niersbach, was forced to resign over alleged tax fraud and corruption in connection with the world cup 2006 which was granted to Germany.
